Blizzards in the South of France!

Imagine my surprise, when my good next door neighbour to our house in France, emailed me with photographs of our houses on 9th March 2010. These showed massive snow falls. The most we have ever heard about is a few cms.
This was more like 2' drifing to 6'! Fortunately my trees were mostly undamaged. There is a beautiful Cedar Tree just up the road on an island (roundabout, rond-point). It's top was bowed down with snow, the rest of the tree was decorated with snow like a Christmas Tree. We are not due to visit the house until August and then hope to move down in November-December permanently. It looks like our August trip, to celibrate my 70th Birthday, will probably be a bit on the busy side, checking out potenetial damage to trees and plants. Then the roof tiles and any leaks sorted. I am really looking forward to living down there and dealing with problems as they arise. |
